Thursday Re-Cap: Session I Practice, Nissen-Emery Banquet

Michigan faithful, I’m happy to report that your Wolvrines look sharp, rested, and ready at workout today. After routines and halves yesterday most of the team made it a light practice with some treatment and visualization. The team then attended the Nissen-Emery NCAA/CGA banquet this evening, during which Syque Caesar was honored as one of the six Nissen-Emery Award finalists and Coach Kurt Golder and Assistant Coaches Yuan Xiao and Geoff Corrigan were honored as Regional Head Coach and Assistant Coaches of the Year, respectively! Great way to start the championships!

Your Wolverines start off the competition on the Bye rotation tomorrow at 1 PM EST and then move to Pommel Horse. All fans following here, please stay tuned for routine-by-routine coverage and scores, and see Penn State’s site for video. For all fans coming to Rec Hall, please note that 1) there is increased security and there will be no bags allowed, and 2) just as you did so well at the Sports Pavilion two weeks ago: Arrive Early, Be Loud, Go Blue, Wear Maize! Let’s make Rec Hall OUR arena!

A final note for parents, family and friends who will be attending NCAA Team Finals on Saturday night: we have set aside a room at The Gardens/Legends restaurant at The Penn Stater Hotel for a post-meet meal and would love to have you join us.

Go Blue!
